The Difference Between Traditional and
Bio-identical Hormones

Bio-identical hormones are plant-derived hormones that are identical in molecular structure to the hormones women make in their own bodies.

Bio-identical hormones are not found in this form in the natural world, but are plant chemical extracts which are made in a laboratory into the hormonal human form.

In comparison, traditional hormones are made up of natural hormone molecules with synthetics (acetate and methyl) added to them.

Bio-identical hormones may be tweaked in the lab so that they have the same molecular structure as the human body, but nothing is added to them. Because there is nothing added to them, there are fewer side effects when compared to traditional hormones.

Bio-identical hormones can be taken by pills, patches, creams, lotions or as vaginal rings.
